Va-Ca AWAY

We stayed at the famous Cresent Hotel in Eureka Springs. What a history filled place that is. When you first get to the downtown historic part of Eureka Springs you notice that all of the building were built right into the side of the hills. There are numerous natural springs throughout the entire town and like i said, the buildings are straight up. The Cresent Hotel sits up top the hill overlooking all the other hotels and shops. I guess when it was first opened it was a hotel that converted into a hospital. Some guy that ran the hospital-Who didnt have a medical degree-did alot of experimenting on crazy people. He would invite thousands of people to the hop ital to watch as he sliced open peoples skulls and poured this type of acid on their exposed brains. That was his way of curing people of cancer. (Now that would be enough to make me quit smoking). Also some guy fell off a scaffolding during a remodel and landed where our room was. The famous room 218! We did exactly see and ghosts but there were alot of people taking pictures outside our door all night long. We even had some big ol biker dudes push our door open and when we went out to see who opened our door the guys go, " It just flew open when we touched it". Yeah like some ghost pushed it open. right! Was a very beautiful old hotel, lots of history, beautiful landscaping, but no real ghosts. We also visited the cosmic caverns. Down and dirty. That place was a mess. Fun, but a mess. I'm not sure that the people who were running it weren't setting themselves up for a lawsuit because you were having t crawl through little bitty openings and had these old rickety wooden stairs, bad handrails, geez-really?! no ones been hurt down there yet? Its was however, a very interesting adventure and because we made it through alive I would have to give it a 8 on the fun-o-meter!

Tarzan

Tarzan! WhaaaaHoweeeeee! What a great place. The bed was freaky big and you dang near had to jump to get in the darn thing! Right outside the window was a bird feeder and we saw so many different kinds of birds and flying squirels. We went into town to the Cresent Hotel for dinner. I am really excited to stay there tonight. Wonder what kind of spooky things we will see. I got my camera ready. I guess the hotel used to be an old hospital. Were gonna do a little window shopping today and then check out the Cosmic Caves and the blind trout. They have the neatest little springs that are just everywhere downtown. I'll try and get some pictures of them also.

Dear Fallon

Dear Fallon, I was at your promotion today from Middle school to Highschool. I've heard you talk about your promotion for the last couple of weeks. Trying to make sure the other girls didnt wear the same dress that you were gonna wear. Finding shoes to go with that dress. Being so excited that you wanted to bring your dress to school to show everyone before hand. I heard it all. But I didnt listen to what you were really saying. I didnt hear you when you said you wanted to look nice that day, just like your other friends. I didnt hear you say just how important that day was going to be to you. I didnt hear you say that everyone else was going to curl their hair a certain way or wear heels or bring a shawl. I listened-but I didnt hear you. I watched you and your friends today at school. I saw you trying to fit in with everyone, be just like your friends. I saw your eyes cut to that one boy (ya you didnt know I was watching-but I saw). I know you wonder if he noticed you. I Should have gotten up earlier to curl your hair just the way you wanted it. It wouldnt have taken that much longer to do. I should have taken you to the mall to get the best of the bestest dress for you. So you would feel pretty and special. I should have taken you to get a pair of shoes with a heel on them like all your friends had. I saw them all dressed up trying to act like ladies and I looked at you-you were trying too. I guess you have to learn how to be a young lady sometime. I just dont like watching you grow up. I promise you my little girl, I promise you today, that I will try to be more open minded. I will try to let you grow up a little more. I been thinking about letting you even wear a little makeup-A LITTLE! Sorry sorry didnt mean to yell. A little makeup, maybe some mascara and eyeliner. I will definitely get you some heels. Lets just start with kitten heels first and ease into it, k? I was very proud of you. You had stars by your name and everything. Such a smart girl. You must have gotten it from your Aunt Jackie cause you sure didnt get it from me or your dad. So proud of you. You do make good choices and you have great smart friends. I love you and will cross my fingers for the next four years. Geez, High School. OMG! I most defiantly need Obiwon's infinite wisdom and knowledge! Help!

Tiny Dancer

Wow we sure have been busy lately with the recitals, Haven't we? First a violin recital than a dance recital. Maybe we will have a guitar recital also! Come on Fallon lets get that guitar going! Saturday Mia had her recital at the Everett High school Auditorium. They really have a nice place for recitals. There were alot of people who showed up and tons of dancers everywhere. Mia danced to Disneys, The Little Mermaid, Part of your World. I'm telling you what-That girl has got long skinny little legs, perfect for dancing because she did such a great job. She gets more graceful the older she gets. Very beautiful. But why do they keep putting my beautiful girl in the back to dance every year? I thought maybe it was because she was one of the tallest, but there were other girls taller than her up closer. How do you tell the teacher that you think YOUR child had been put in the back for too long? Dont want to be THAT kind of parent but I certainly would like to see her better at least every couple of recitals. Its really hard to see her with that many kids on stage when she's in the back. Hmm maybe I'll just suck it up again till next year and hope she gets a move up in the ranks.

Viola!

Chellsea had her violin recital on Sunday, June 7, 2009. It took place in this cute little church up by Lake Rosinger (however u spell it). She played Fur Elise by Beethoven, Largo by Dvorak, and Canon by Pachabel. The Cannon song was a duet that she played with her teacher and in case you don't know (I didn't) its that really beautiful wedding march that goes-Da da da da..Oh you cant hear me? Sorry, just trust me its beautiful. But my favorite was the Largo one. Did really did a great job with it. I'll YOUTUBE it for ya. Mia gave her a dozen wonderful yellow roses when she was through and then we all had cake and cookies afterwards. This is the first recital that I have been able to attend in quite awhile. She has been playing now for about 8 or 9 years. Some of the songs she plays make you want to just bust out crying. I love you Chellsea and am so proud of your playing! Mia's recital is coming up next weekend. :)

Honesty

Honesty is the human quality of communicating and acting truthfully related to truth as a value. This includes listening, and any action in the human repertoire — as well as speaking. I would like to think that one of my values to my family and friends is that I am an honest person. You ask me a question-Do I look fat in this dress? I'm not going to lie to you. If you look fat I'm going to find the nicest way posible to tell you, yes. I would not come up to a person and give such a opinion to them with out an actual request for that opionion. and thats just it-Its an opionion. You dont want to hear the truth than dont ask me. When I ask someone if my lipstick is too red I expect an honest answer-Im looking for their HONEST opinion. People who lie to other people about these things kinda honk me off. If I tell you the truth and you dont choose to believe it, thats fine too. When someone asks you if you mad at them-tell them yes or no. If your mad at them dont let it fester. You can find a nice way to communicate to them what they did or how they hurt your feelings. Just because someone has hurt your feeling or mad you mad doesnt mean you have to be enemy's forever. Dont walk around spitting venum behind peoples backs and then invite them to a movie 2 minutes later. A weak person who trys to avoid conflict will ultimately find himself deep in the middle of conflict (exactly what they were trying to avoid). Dont say something about someone unless your willing to stand behind what you say. Own it! You said it-Now own it! Some of the biggest, loudest, and smartest men I know are so weak in this way. They hide behind desks, and money, and education. "Well, I'm so educated and rich that everything I say must be the truth". "Everyone will believe what I say regardless of the truth because I am so smart". These people have no communicatin skills, have no problem lying to avoid conflict, and will do it right to your face quite easly because they are so used to doing it. It's easier to lie. It just rolls right out of their mouths like vomit. and the lies are what they stand behind. They rationalize to themselves the postive reasons to lie. Make themselves feel justified. I guess Im mad right now also at the people who choose to believe these type of people. Really? You cant tell when someone is feeding you a line?
Hmmmm...well thanks for listening. I'll re-read this about 40 times and try to live by my own advise. Every day is an opportunity to try to be a better person and nothing NOTHING in unrepairable when it comes to relationships. Its all an effort.

Shave and a Haircut-2 Bits!

So who knows how much money 2-bits is? I do I do! Me and Brad took the Ditterbug out for his very first hair cut! We went to the Barber Shop on main street in Monroe and my bug cried through the whole thing. But he wasnt crying because he didnt want his hair cut. He was crying because he didnt want to wear the cape dealie that they put on you to keep the hair off of you. Now his Banks ears look bigger and omg his bangs are cut straight across! He looks like such a little nerd. But you can swish over his bangs and he looks alot better. No STINKY boys at our house! and then the night before that Ditterbug fell outside on the deck and bite a whole through his lip from the inside to the outside! It bled and bled and thenit bled alot more which made me want to panick. Jes Louis how much blood can one baby boy have in a cracked lip? It soaked in his diaper and was disgusting. So I ran him to the Emergency Room-Hereafter refered to as the ER>(he he he right off the Law Office paper work). So after we been sitting in the ER for ever, cause you know there is no drive through service, Doogie Hauser MD comes into our room to take a look at the Bug. He says definetly stiches were needed and that we were gonna have to numb it up first and then stitch it. However he wanted us to wait for the next Dr. who would be comming on shift at 11pm. Geez, more waiting. So about 11:45 Dr. Gonzales comes into our room, takes a look at the bug and says basically the same thing that Dr. Doogie had said. but he also wants us to give Ditters a sedative through an IV so he will be still while he does the stiches. Two little newbie nurses start trying to find a vain in my boys little stick arms and after messing up the first one and working forever on the second-I've had enough! My boy is screaming so hard and both of us are crying so I'm thnking that this is not worth it-my boys hurting more now then when he cracked his lip to begin with. So we left! The next day we went to his regular Dr. Madani and she stuck some super glue stuff on his lip to hold it together and we went on our way. Amazing! Why couldnt they just do that at the ER? Maybe it was just too easy. Grrrrr. They make me so mad!
